Resolved: Fraudulent charges made on my card they didn't have permission to have on file or use.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I disputed the charges through my bank and they refunded me most of the money but still not all.
But Red Roof never responded or reached out at all. Disappointing Because I used to stay there a lot.

Although I like very much giving good reviews and do so whenever possible, I'm afraid I have to give this Red Roof Inn in Joliet, IL the worst rating possible. I've stayed there several times for weeks at a time and never had any problems to speak of at all.
I recently had another reservation starting on October 28, 2023. As usual, for piece of mind sake, I called the hotel to confirm the reservation. That call took place on the 26th The front desk clerk said everything is fine. She confirmed the reservation and a first floor room.
On Saturday the 28th I called early afternoon again to let them know I would be there a little late maybe around 10:00 p.m. The owner/manager said that was fine and confirmed my first floor room again. However, when arriving at approximately 9:20 p.m. after driving several hours, the nightmare began.
When giving my ID to the night clerk she said my reservation had been canceled and that I was on a DNR (do not rent list). Of course I said that's impossible and that I've stayed several times without any problems. She said she could see those past stays but the manager/owner put me on the that DNR list around 5:30 p.m. She could not see in the computer why.
She tried calling her assistant manager but she could not help. I explained to her this makes no sense. I always keep my room clean and don't smoke at all. I knew payment couldn't possibly be an issue as payment is taken at the beginning of every stay and in this case it took place online since it was a weekly rate.
She was sorry but couldn't help. Only the owner/manager could and she didn't have his number. So, after staying there several times without any problems, confirming the reservation twice, thinking everything was fine, I arrive there at night being tired after traveling only to find out my reservation had been canceled, could not stay there again, and that they were booked full even if she wanted to help me. It was insane.
No one even called me to say there was a problem and just let me come knowing this was going to happen. She did try to help me get another room at another hotel. She suggested I write the owner (Hardy) an email and gave me his name and email address. After going through the unprepared late night search for another hotel and finally arriving after paying twice as much as what my other reservation would have been, I wrote the owner and explained what happened and asked to please take care of the problem as there had been some big mistake.
I asked him to please call me to discuss the situation ASAP. I have NEVER received a phone call. I've called the hotel several times asking for him and still no call. I did explain what happened to another gentlemen clerk who remembered me from past stays.
He said he knew why I was put on that list. It was because I violated hotel policy. I said WHAT hotel policy? He said I told the housekeeping ladies not to clean my room.
Unbelievable! I said I NEVER told them not to clean my room but only that they didn't have to since I keep my room clean anyway and wanted to be nice. They did however clean it anyway several times and on the off days emptied trash and switched out towels. Now I'm thinking this is Crazy!
Unbelievable! Insane! I've since called the hotel several more times and was told that owner/manager Hardy was not there. I still have not received a phone call or response to my email.
I then checked with the Better Business Bureau and found that not only was the Red Roof Inn in Joliet, IL not accredited with them but also that it has an F rating. According to Google and F rating is the lowest grade of the BBB. This is written as a warning to others. What happened to me I have never heard of.
Don't trust that Red Roof Inn.
The owner, Hardy, is the worst you can imagine. I wouldn't want someone else going through a traveling nightmare like I had.

Tampa Florida across from bush gardens, I attempted to stay the night with my partially deaf and disabled girlfriend. Supposedly the employees name was sunny Patel.
This incident occured last night. My girlfriend was walking her dog and the dog urinated outside in the bushes. A few moments after she arrived back at our room 212 there was a knock on the door. This employee started screaming at her that we have to leave because he assumed the dog pooped outside.
I tried to tell him that my girlfriend is partially deaf when he was stating she ignored him because he thought the dog pooped and tried to stop her to pick up animal droppings that did not exist. He was screaming and yelling that we have to leave immediately or he's calling the cops. Now this room that we were in for less than one hour stunk of cigarettes, had a gooey substance to the left of the mini fridge, an extremely loud ac fan for the ac which had a remote that did not function the ac.
Before I could notify the office of this un desirable accomodations I was forcefully removed and threatened by this employee. He stole my cash deposit and falsified documentation of false images to tell me he wasn't going to give me anything, before I have the VA attorney for after this employee and red roof inn plus for abusing a disabled person and stealing from them

I am writing a complaint regarding a horrific experience i recieved here at Hometown Suites, in Kent Washington.
Yesterday while outside with my 3yr old and his group of friends, a disturbed neighbor KEPT approaching us. 4 times!! In the parking lot. The area we were at , he seemed concerned about glass being in that area(understandable).
So i moved the children to otherside of parking lot, in a grass area. We literally were sitting down, and the guy proceeded to approach us 3 more times yelling unwarranted...about glass we physically was no where near...he states he went to management, and managment seemed unconcerned, i said i apprdciated that...he would leave and RETURN. At which onr pt he called one of the kids who had said nothing to him atall a spoiled brat .
Needless to say we had to get the child parent involved,her child was verbally attacked by this man..as well as at this pt we had all been harrassed.
Im currently 5months pregnant, and medically is high risk pregnancy...its the next morning and ive been unable to get my blood preassure down from incident ,even despite taking Tylenol.
I reached out to managamenr for corporate number. I called customer service..the lady seemed uninterested. And had a DISGUSTING ATTITUDE! ABSOLUTELY the worst customer services .
It seems no one is concerned about a *** man ..approaching children and yelling at them .

The Last straw was the male that has lived here for over 5 years, with multiple situations with different residents and employees. This individual came to my door which is on the 3rd floor, from his 1st floor room and knock on my door.
His demeanor indicated that he wanted trouble. He attempted to get at my Daughter's guest and I kept trying to keep them apart. Things increasingly escalated and Police were called. Sum it up he was told not to bother us at all.
In process of protection or restraining order. We approached the staff in regard to the incident. Didn't hear from Management until today. Not to address the weekends issue or the missing rewards points.
But regarding late payment. There are several more issues I would like to address as well.
Never you mind that after over an hour and 15 minutes the rewards relations/customer relations line hung up on me.

No reply from Red Roof
My husband checked is in the first time.
he said that he had to pay a little extra at check in (less than $2).
On my return trip I checked us in. The girl at the desk kept questioning of I had paid and I assured her that I did. she said it isnt showing in the system. I pulled up my app and showed her that I did.
She quickly found it in the system after that. She then informed me that I still owed $1.61, I asked what the extra charge was for. she said it was hotel policy, it was for the safe.
I explained that I wouldnt be using a safe and had paid the total charges with my reservation. She just giggled and then gave me the reservation paperwork to sign.
I know that is not that much money per person, but if you are charging everyone that checks in $1.61, that can add up to quite a nice bonus.
I feel like this should be mentioned in the hotel ads.
